Recasts, updates prices

LONDON, Oct 24 (Reuters) -Raw sugar futures on ICE steadied on Thursday as dealers continued to digest news of reduced stocks in top producer Brazil and the possibility of rain disrupting the harvest.

SUGAR

* March raw sugar SBc1 dipped 0.7% to 22.16 cents per lb by 1505 GMT, having closed 2.8% up on Wednesday.

* Dealers said that while rains in Brazil improve the outlook for next year's crop, they have arrived too late to help this year's crop and might if anything, disrupt the current harvest.

* They also noted that wild fires last month did more to damage newly planted cane than hurt current crop cane and that the drought earlier in the year might yet result in a delay to the start of next year's harvest.

* On Wednesday Asian commodities trader Wilmar reported that sugar stocks in Brazil had been adjusted to the lowest on record before the current crop started, citing numbers from Unica that are not public and only accessible to companies associated with the industry group.

* Brazil's sugarcane farmers association Orplana projects the 2025/26 Centre-South crop at 582 million metric tons, against an estimated 590 million tons in 2024/25, while Santa Eliza sugar mill forecasts next year's crop at only 560 million tons.

* December white sugar LSUc1 fell 0.5% to $568.40 a ton.

COCOA

* March London cocoa LCCc2 fell 3.1% to 4,747 pounds a ton, having lost 0.9% on Wednesday.

* Ivory Coast's cocoa regulator expects the main crop to increase by about 10% in the 2024/25 season, its senior executive said, though he added a note of caution because of heavy rains.

* December New York cocoa CCc1 fell 3.3% to $6,770 a ton, having hit its lowest since early March at $6,744 a ton.

COFFEE

* January robusta coffee LRCc2 was down 1.6% at $4,373 a ton after touching its lowest in more than two months at $4,346.

* Coffee prices in top robusta producer Vietnam fell this week despite the approach of tropical storm Trami, with demand still poor among cautious traders.

* December arabica coffee KCc1 fell 1.6% to $2.4840 per lb, extending the previous session's 1% loss.
