AkzoNobel drops on Q3 miss, lowered FY guidance
** Shares in AkzoNobel AKZO.AS fall 4% to the bottom of Amsterdam's blue-chip index .AEX after the Dulux paint maker announced Q3 sales and core profit misses amid weak consumer demand and lowered its FY outlook
** The group said it expected its adjusted EBITDA to reach 1.5 billion euros ($1.62 billion) this year, at the bottom of its earlier forecast range
** "Overall, this print looks somewhat weak and, hence, we expect the stock to likely underperform today," J.P. Morgan says
** Given the miss, the broker expects 4Q24 adj EBITDA to be in 320-330 million euros range compared to company consensus of 332 million euros
** "AkzoNobel slightly missed expectations, primarily due to weaker than expected volume growth and some impact of hyperinflation accounting" Degroof Petercam notes, pointing to "challenging trading conditions"
** Shares on track for their worst day since April 23, 2024, when they closed 6.9% lower
